Brief – Creating a Space That Truly Feels Like Home
Designing a care home is about so much more than selecting furniture and finishes. It’s about creating spaces where people feel comfortable, relaxed and at home every single day.
For this project, we were commissioned to design a complete household within a luxury care home, including resident lounges, dining areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and connecting spaces. The brief was to create elegant interiors that offered all the comforts of home, while supporting the practical needs of modern care living.
Rather than following passing trends, we took inspiration from timeless interiors with a classic, residential feel. Soft neutral tones, warm timber finishes and beautifully upholstered furniture create spaces that feel calm, welcoming and effortlessly luxurious. Every material, colour and texture was carefully considered to ensure the home would feel as beautiful in years to come as it does today.
The communal lounges were designed to encourage everyday living. Whether residents are enjoying a morning coffee, catching up with family or simply relaxing with a book, these spaces provide a comfortable setting that feels inviting at any time of day. Thoughtfully layered lighting, elegant window treatments and carefully selected accessories bring warmth and personality to every room.
The dining areas continue the same design story, creating welcoming spaces where residents can enjoy meals together in surroundings that feel more like a country house hotel than a traditional care environment. Comfortable furniture, bespoke joinery and timeless styling all contribute to an atmosphere that encourages conversation and connection.
Private bedrooms and bathrooms were designed with the same level of care and attention. By balancing luxurious finishes with practical, durable materials, we created spaces that support independence while offering residents somewhere they can truly make their own.
Every room within the scheme was designed to feel connected, creating a seamless flow throughout the home. Consistent materials, colours and detailing help establish a sense of familiarity, ensuring the interiors feel cohesive while allowing each space to have its own individual character.
